A man suffered a head injury in an accident inside a tourist boat near the famous Benagil caves in Lagoa.
According to Portugal’s maritime authority (AMN), rescue teams were alerted at around 1.05pm on Tuesday (September 23) that a passenger had fallen and sustained a suspected head injury. Crews from the Ferragudo lifeboat station were immediately dispatched, along with maritime police officers from Portimão and members of the Portuguese Red Cross.
The victim was conscious when officers arrived and received medical assistance before being taken to Portimão Marina, from where he was taken to Portimão hospital for further treatment.
