Missoni’s first real estate project in Portugal represents an investment of €200 million
World-renowned Italian fashion house Missoni makes its debut in Portugal with Aroeira Collections by Missoni, an exclusive residential and touristic project that blends luxury living with Missoni’s iconic design, located in Aroeira, Costa da Caparica – just 30 minutes south of Lisbon.
The development includes 138 hotel apartments, featuring one- and two-bedroom units, and 40 additional apartments with two- and three-bedroom configurations. It also encompasses 24 houses ranging from two to four bedrooms, and 28 villas offering three- to five-bedroom options.
Alberto Caliri, Creative Director of Missoni, said: “Bringing Missoni’s aesthetic to life in a residential space has been an exciting challenge. We wanted to create an environment that embodies our brand’s signature artistry while maintaining a connection to the natural surroundings.”
This development is a collaborative effort with Norfin SGOIC, a leading company in Real Estate Investment Management in Portugal. It features a remarkable collection of villas, houses, apartments, an apartment hotel, and a championship PGA golf course, set in one of Portugal’s most exquisite coastal landscapes.
With an anticipated total investment of €200 million, the Aroeira Collections project promises to create direct jobs and significantly boost tourism and the regional economy.
“The Aroeira Collections by Missoni is more than a residence – it is a living conversation between generations and cultures,” says Francisco Sottomayor, CEO of Norfin Group, adding that “This project offers a quality-driven living experience where refined design meets the tranquility of nature, catering to those seeking a seamless blend of elegance, comfort, and an extraordinary coastal setting”.

Set within a 350-hectare estate in Aroeira, Costa da Caparica – just 30 minutes south of Lisbon – the development offers a unique coastal enclave that presents a secluded haven on the southern edge of the Costa da Caparica. This pristine stretch of golden beaches and dramatic cliffs along the Atlantic Ocean forms the backdrop for Missoni’s debut in the Portuguese real estate market, providing an idyllic setting for luxury coastal living that integrates Missoni’s renowned design with Portuguese architectural excellence.
Aroeira Collections by Missoni redefines luxury living through an unparalleled fusion of fashion, design, and architecture, curated by Alberto Caliri, Creative Director of Missoni, and envisioned by celebrated Portuguese architects Ana Costa, João Favila Meneses, and Pedro Domingos.
Everything was designed with profound respect for natural surroundings, enhancing the interplay of light and shadow and ensuring that residences naturally blend into their environment. Interiors will feature Missoni’s signature patterns, vibrant colors, and timeless elegance, while paying homage to Portuguese design heritage through the revival of selected furniture pieces from Atelier Daciano da Costa. Inês Cottinelli, CEO of Atelier Daciano da Costa, leads the reissue from her father’s studio, blending cultural heritage with modern creativity. The outcome is a unique piece bridging two creative worlds, infused with cultural memory and Missoni’s vibrant spirit.
“This piece is a dialogue across time. It honors the vision of my father while embracing the bold, joyful spirit of Missoni”, says Inês Cottinelli. “We believe design should carry stories – of place, people, and purpose – and this collaboration does just that”.
At the heart of the development lies the Aroeira Collections Hotel, poised to welcome both residents and visitors. The project is anchored by two 18-hole PGA championship golf courses, aligning it with distinguished destinations like Gleneagles and The Belfry. Recently rebranded as PGA Aroeira Lisboa, it is Portugal’s only official PGA venue.
This marks a significant investment in the resort, beginning with a full renovation of the historic PGA Aroeira No. 1 course, originally designed by Frank Pennink. PGA Aroeira No. 2 – a Donald Steel course and former host of the Ladies European Tour – is next for a full upgrade in 2025.
Future plans include a new clubhouse and hotel, solidifying Aroeira’s leading position in Portugal’s golf scene. Beyond golf, residents can enjoy access to a health center, two pools, tennis and padel courts, a restaurant, children’s play areas, and 24-hour reception, encapsulating a complete and elevated lifestyle.
Embracing ESG principles and aligning with the EU Taxonomy for sustainable activities, the project follows a sustainable approach with endemic plant species utilized in landscaping and no new earth brought in. The hotel development adheres to LEED certification standards for sustainable building design.
Sales launched in May, with construction set to begin in Q3 2025 and expected completion by 2027. The showroom, located at the Aroeira Golf Clubhouse, is already open for visits.
