Movember, the month of the moustache, is here and a group of Algarve-based men will be joining others worldwide in putting their razors away to raise funds and awareness of men’s health, in particular prostate cancer.
For the month of Movember men can register online, with photos of their clean shaven faces, then for the rest of the month remaining, allow their moustaches to grow until the month is through.
Thousands of men, also known as “Mo Bros”, who take part in this annual event will seek sponsors to support the often ignored issue of men’s health.
Supported by the women in their lives, “Mo Sistas” will offer encouragement and assistance to their “Mo Bros” in seeking out sponsorship.
Algarve resident Chris Winstanley, of Lagos based Moveison, has formed a “Movember” team for the Algarve, with eight members already, including John Thorpe of Bar Baccus in Porches.
The team will be updating the Algarve Resident each week on their progress.
To sponsor them, please visit their registered page http://uk.movember.com/mospace/1710340/.
Funds raised by these men during the month, are donated to “Movember” directed charities, such as the Prostate Cancer Charity, the Institute of Cancer Research and more.
