Three Portuguese Olympians will be travelling to the Algarve to share their personal stories in an event called Olympic Talks, due to take place on Thursday, September 4 at Vila Vita Parc’s Manzar Bar in Porches, Lagoa.
Headlining the list of speakers is Vanessa Fernandes, an Olympic silver medallist in triathlon (2008), five-time European champion, and 2007 world champion. Swimmer Miguel Arrobas, who competed in the 1992 Summer Olympics in Barcelona, participating in the 100m and 200m backstroke events, will also take part, as well as Angélica André, who competed in the 2020 Summer Olympics in the women’s 10km open water swimming event, finishing 17th.
According to organisers SwimParty100km, the athletes will share their personal journeys, the challenges of life at the Olympic level, and their transitions into everyday life.
The event, running from 5pm to 8pm, is free, but registration is mandatory via an online form, which can be found through the Instagram page of organisers SwimParty100km.
