REN, Portugal’s national energy transmission operator, has donated a vehicle to the Cachopo Parish Centre (Centro Paroquial de Cachopo), helping expand support to the vulnerable and elderly residents of this remote village of Tavira.
The new van will allow the centre to create a new home support route, improving the speed and efficiency of services for the elderly and those most in need.

According to Deacon Albino Ramires Martins, president of the centre, “this generous gesture from REN represents not only a valuable resource but also a sign of recognition and commitment to the social mission we carry out every day.”
The donation is part of REN’s corporate social responsibility programme, which promotes initiatives that generate a positive and lasting impact on local communities.
Founded in 1990 by the parish church of Cachopo, the centre serves a seriously ageing population facing significant social and economic challenges and works closely with public and private entities to ensure ongoing assistance to those most in need in the Algarve’s interior.
