Residents from across the Algarve demonstrated their fitness and endurance levels during a number of events over the last month in both Spain and Portugal.
George Smith from Ferragudo took part in the Quarteira triathlon for the first time on April 11, braving a choppy sea as part of the three discipline event.
Meanwhile, strength, fitness and determination were shown by Steve Parry and Jill Edwards on April 30 as the pair took part in the Lisbon Half Ironman race.
Entrants in the race completed a 1.9km swim, a 90km bike ride before finishing with a 21.1km run.
Finally, residents travelled across the border to take part in the Madrid marathon. Lesley Knapp, Jenny Hurst and Eddy Emilio took part in the distance race on April 25, the same day as the London marathon.
