Portugal’s Carolina Andrade claimed a bronze medal at the Artistic Roller Skating World Championships held in Portimão.
“The fans are fantastic,” she said after completing the compulsory figures programme. “The support of the people helped me greatly in the ring.”
The sentiment was echoed by junior solo dance fourth and fifth placed skaters Ines Gigante and Ricardo Pinto, the former singling out the generous applause received from spectators as partly responsible for her success.
