A Lagos resident who has a passion for making nativity scenes has single-handedly created a magical crib with over 100 figurines.
Recently retired, José Cortes has spent many hours in his workshop building a nativity scene made out of various materials, such as polystyrene, wood and stone, in time for this Christmas.
But his work is so beautiful that he has been asked to open his workshop, at Rua 5 de Outubro, to the general public. The display will be open until January 6, from 4pm to 8pm. Donations from the sale of a brochure, describing, step-by-step, the work of José Cortes and methods applied to create his nativity scene will go to special needs school NECI in Luz.
