Every call is urgent. Every rescue matters.
On a bright Sunday afternoon, Cadela Carlota joined forces once again with the amazing team at Bar Habana in Praia da Luz for a community dog adoption event. The atmosphere was full of warmth – sunshine, smiles, and wagging tails all around.
Bar Habana crafted a special food and drinks menu and kindly shared the proceeds with our charity. Alongside this, we sold merchandise and homemade cookies, raising a fantastic €804 for the animals in our care.
It was a feel-good day for everyone – visitors enjoyed a great time out, and our rescue dogs were spoiled with cuddles and attention. Events like this not only help raise funds but also raise awareness of the work we do year-round.
April, however, brought a wave of abandoned puppies and kittens. Some were found alone in ditches or wandering roadsides – scared, hungry, and vulnerable. Every call is urgent. Every rescue matters.
Take Whisky, for example. Just two months old, he was found near Odiáxere – tick-ridden, starving, and completely on his own. Like so many others, he had no microchip, no history, no one looking for him.
Thankfully, Whisky was taken in by a foster family who gave him the care and love he desperately needed. And here’s the happy ending: they fell head over heels for him. Whisky is staying right where he is – adopted and adored.
Stories like his are what keep us going. But we need your help to make more of them happen.
Could you foster a dog or kitten? Volunteer your time? Support us through donations or attend one of our community events?
Every bit of support helps turn an abandoned life into a new beginning.
