The staff and regulars of the Riverside Bar in Tavira were delighted to learn that they had collected the most of any establishment in the Algarve in this year’s Poppy Appeal.
The €410 raised will help the Royal British Legion, which continues to provide practical care, advice and support to serving members of the Armed Forces, veterans of all ages and their families.
Danielle Bain said: “We were delighted with the response and hope that other bars along the Algarve will endeavour to surpass our total next year.
“We are planning to raise money throughout the year by holding a number of sponsor events and theme nights.”
