Thank you, Lagos! €914 raised for rescue animals

Vintage treasures and community spirit at Cadela Carlota’s Pop-Up Shop

Thank you so much to everyone who came along to the Cadela Carlota Pop-Up Shop at The Tavern in Lagos! The afternoon was full of smiles, conversation, and some fantastic finds, as people browsed the collection of vintage treasures, handmade gifts, and pre-loved items – all brought right into the heart of the old town.

It was wonderful to see so many familiar faces (and a few new ones!) supporting the cause, and together we raised an amazing €914 from donations, raffle proceeds, and sales on the day. Every cent goes directly towards helping the dogs and cats currently in care.

A special thank you goes to Teri for organising the event and to Denise for so generously providing the space at The Tavern. The atmosphere was lively and full of community spirit – proof once again that when animal lovers come together, great things happen. Bringing the treasures from the shop into town turned out to be a brilliant idea – shoppers picked up some real bargains while spreading the word about the ongoing work of Cadela Carlota.

Volunteers needed at the Lagos shop

The Cadela Carlota charity shop in Lagos continues to be a vital source of income for the shelter, and new volunteers are always welcome. If you can spare a few hours a week, the team would be delighted to hear from you. No experience is necessary – just enthusiasm and a willingness to help.

Volunteers help sort donations, keep the shop looking its best, and assist customers. The store is open Monday to Friday, 10am-12.30pm and 3pm-5pm, and is located next to Calhou Restaurant, R. Dr. António Guerreiro Tello. You can also find updates, sales, and special events on Facebook at LOJA/SHOP Cadela Carlota.

Meet Noa – a rescue with a big heart

Noa, a two-year-old rescue dog, was found by the roadside near Barão de São João in September. She was dangerously underweight and surviving on scraps, but with love and care, she made a full recovery.

Gentle and affectionate, Noa would do best as the only dog in a calm home. She’s now looking for her forever family – someone who can offer the patience and kindness she deserves.
