The Cine-Teatro Louletano is welcoming the Russian Classical Ballet on December 13 for a special performance of Tchaikovsky’s The Nutcracker, coreographed by Petipa.
Based on the story The Nutcracker and the Mouse King, written by German author Ernst Theodor Amadeus Hoffmann, the dance tells the story of a little girl (Clara) who is given a Nutcracker doll and finds herself swept up in an almost dream-like war between the Mouse King and the Nutcracker Prince.
When the Nutcracker Prince is threatened by the Mouse King, Clara manages to overcome her fears and kills the mouse.
With the goal of preserving the best tradition in classical Russian ballet, the Russian Classical Ballet features several dancers from some of the most prestigious Russian dance schools and dance theatres, as well as some young emerging talents.
Tickets cost between €22 and €25.
