Trick or… pet?  AlgarveShopping hosts pet adoption fair on Halloween

Tricks traded for cuddles as rescued animals look for loving homes

This Halloween, AlgarveShopping in Guia (Albufeira) is giving the holiday a heartwarming twist. Instead of just choosing between ‘trick or treat’, visitors are invited to consider a new option: adopting a four-legged friend.

In partnership with Animal Rescue Algarve (ARA), the shopping centre is hosting a special adoption campaign on Friday, October 31, from 10am to 5pm. on Floor 0 near the Meeting Point. Several animals in ARA’s care will be looking for their forever home, ready to meet potential new families. Guests will also have the chance to snap photos with these Halloween “monsters” who only want to spread love.

“What’s truly scary is animal abandonment,” the campaign slogan points out.

ARA is a non-profit organisation that rescues, rehabilitates, and rehomes animals in need while promoting responsible adoption and empathy through educational campaigns.

Since 2023, AlgarveShopping has embraced a pet-friendly policy, allowing animals to accompany their owners in designated common areas and selected stores.
