Vila Vita Parc’s Adega restaurant is preparing to host the first in its series of “Vine & Dine” dinners, a new concept that aims to bring together renowned national and international producers for exclusive wine and gastronomic experiences.
The “Vine & Dine” Cycle, comprising four exclusive events, will highlight 16 premium wines paired with an eight-course menu created by Chef Alípio Branco.
The inaugural event on October 9 will feature Niepoort wines, attended by Dirk Niepoort himself, one of Portugal’s most renowned wine producers, who will share stories and reflections on the wines presented.
“Vine & Dine is more than just a dinner; it is a sensory celebration that brings together some of the most esteemed national and international wine producers. This first edition aims to highlight the value of Portuguese wines, demonstrating that they not only rival but often surpass the most prestigious international wines”, says Augusto Brumatti, Head Sommelier of Vila Vita Parc.
The wine expert states: “These exclusive dinners offer a comparative and enriching experience, with a duo of wines served at each moment: one national and one international reference. This allows guests to explore and celebrate the excellence of our wines alongside the best in the world.”
At a single, exclusive table, 20 participants will enjoy a menu created by Chef Alípio Branco, specifically designed to complement an exceptional selection of wines. The dinner features eight gastronomic moments, each accompanied by two wines—one Portuguese from Niepoort and the other international—offering a rare and enriching comparative experience. In total, there will be 16 wines in the tasting, carefully selected to showcase both the quality of local craftsmanship and international excellence.
Among the gastronomic highlights served will be Cockle and Algarvian Carrot Rissoles, accompanied by Niepoort Água Viva 2018 sparkling wine and Geoffroy 2017 Champagne; Tuna “pica-pau” paired with Niepoort Quinta de Baixo VV 2018 and Chablis Premier Cru 2018 by Philippe Pacalet; Portuguese Beef Loin served with Niepoort Ximena Vinha Alta 2021 and Vosne-Romanée 2022 from Domaine de Bellene; and a classic Portuguese dessert, Abade de Priscos Pudding, served with Niepoort Harvest 2003 and Barbeito & Niepoort “Os Mestres” Reserva Special.
The first Vine & Dine dinner costs €300 per person. Reservation is mandatory, given the limited number of seats, and can be made directly on the Vila Vita Parc website or via email (fb@vilavitaparc.com).
In addition to this inaugural dinner, upcoming Vine & Dine events are already scheduled and promise equally memorable experiences. On October 15, the highlight will be a dinner with the renowned Bodegas Vega Sicília, attended by General Manager Zita Rojkovich. On November 7, it will be Sandeman’s turn, in a night entirely dedicated to Port wine, with Georges Sandeman in attendance. On November 28, an iconic dinner will be held in partnership with the prestigious Domaine de la Romanée-Conti, marking its first appearance in Portugal, in collaboration with the Niepoort family. This event will offer a rare opportunity for the national public to taste wines from one of the most esteemed houses in Burgundy and worldwide.
