MAR Shopping Algarve in Loulé is inaugurating its ‘Pet Area’ this Thursday (November 21), making it the first shopping centre in Portugal to provide a pet-sitting service.
In a press statement, MAR Shopping says that its pet-friendly concept has been broadened as visitors can now take their pets to the shopping centre and leave them in the care of experienced handlers.
The ‘Pet Area’, also called ‘Woof Land’, is set in a 200sqm area outside the shopping centre and boasts a team of specialists led by renowned dog trainer Sara Tails.
Apart from its pet-sitting service, ‘Woof Land’ will also host several activities including workshops, contests, behavioral training sessions and much more.
Prices and schedules for all these services and events are due to be revealed soon online at marshopping.com/algarve.
Herman Gewert, general manager of MAR Shopping Algarve, says that the opening of ‘Woof Land’ will allow the shopping centre to “extend its family and welcome animals as part of it”.
“More than being just a pet-friendly shopping centre, we are the first in Portugal that is completely focused on welcoming dog owners, who are daily customers and whom we want to continue to provide the best experience possible.”
