Loulé hosts dog walk in the woods

The main goal is to combat a sedentary lifestyle

A dog walk organised by Iron Dog Algarve, in partnership with the Municipality of Loulé, will take place this Saturday, April 11, at 10am, as part of a series of events to under the Active Easter programme.

The main goal is to combat a sedentary lifestyle by promoting outdoor physical activity, while also raising awareness of the work carried out by the municipality’s sports organisations.

The meeting point is set for 10am at the Monument to Engineer Duarte Pacheco, where a roughly 1.5-kilometre route will begin, with an estimated duration of one hour.

Participation is free and open to the entire community, with families and their four-legged companions encouraged to attend for “a time of fellowship, well-being, and the promotion of healthy lifestyle habits”.

“Walking improves physical fitness, reduces stress, fosters contact with nature, mentally stimulates the dog, encourages socialization between animals and people, and strengthens the bond between the dog and its owner,” say organisers.

At the end of the event, participants will also have the opportunity to ask questions about dog training and socialisation with one of the trainers from the dog training school.
