The event is designed especially for local children up to 12 years old and their families, offering an afternoon filled with warmth, joy and true community spirit. Visitors can expect Christmas carols performed by Os Alegres, creative activities, warm seasonal treats, and of course… a magical visit from Santa Claus.
This first edition has been made possible thanks to the generosity, enthusiasm and heart of local businesses, partners, volunteers, and the organising team. Our heartfelt thanks go to Casa do Panito, Tara Classy, Portarade (Fusion), Eden Bar, Os Alegres (carol singers), Gina Hayden (Sphere Consulting), Beautiful Sense Algarve, O’Barril, Anita Konst, Ferragudo Boat Trips, Restaurante Novo Mundo, Friends in Business Algarve, Renascer Estética, Devine Productions, Alma Luz Distillery and the many other financial and gift sponsors and volunteers, whose support and time made both the Tree Lighting on December 13 and the event on December 20 possible.
During the Tree Lighting ceremony on 13 December (around 5pm), Santa’s Helpers will also sell raffle tickets, with many beautiful prizes generously donated by local businesses. The raffle winners will be drawn on December 20 during the event, with 100% of the proceeds going directly towards organising the Christmas Charity Event Ferragudo 2026 – helping this new tradition to continue and grow.
From the sparkle of the tree lighting to the excitement of the event day, Ferragudo has shown what community spirit truly looks like. Neighbours, entrepreneurs, families, and friends have united to create Christmas magic for local children.
The Christmas Charity Event Ferragudo is more than a festive afternoon, it is the beginning of something lasting, built by the community, for the community.
