Artenata returns this weekend to Ferragudo

Popular Christmas fair has become a staple of the Algarve's festive calendar

Ferragudo is preparing the biggest festive weekend of its holiday season as the 18th edition of Artenata returns from Saturday to Monday (November 29-December 1) to the Rainha D. Leonor square and surrounding streets.

Now a firm staple of the Algarve’s Christmas calendar, Artenata once again showcases the region’s craftspeople and artists, shining the spotlight on traditional techniques and local talent. Open to both full-time and part-time creators of handmade, artistic or decorative pieces from across the Algarve, the fair aims to highlight quality work and bring exhibitors closer to their audiences.

More than 40 stalls will welcome visitors from 10am each day, alongside street entertainment, inflatable attractions for children, live music and dance performances.

One of the highlights promises to be a performance by two choirs which will raise funds for the local branch of the St. Vincent de Paul Society (see story on page 21).

To ease traffic, the parish council recommends using the free car parks at the village entrance, next to the sports hall, and along the riverside area of Angrinha.
