Big bike day

The International Autodrome of the Algarve will host a four-hour BTT bicycle endurance race on November 18.

Male and female entries as well as pairs of either sex and mixed teams of two are invited to participate between 9am and 1pm at a cost of €10 (€17 including lunch).

The contest will follow a specially laid out 6.6km course starting at the kart track before taking in the off-road park and passing on to the motor racing circuit itself.

The first three finishers in each of the five categories will not only receive prizes but also qualify to subsequently go up against each other in a kart race.

Meanwhile the Algarve’s Celina Carpinteiro, representing the BTT Loulé/BPI cycling club, was the winner of the Portuguese Marathon Sport Zone Cup in the women’s absolute and elite categories.
