If you scanned the pages of last week’s edition looking for results of the November 3 games you will have deduced that they were all rained off – not just on that day, but again on the 7th, the date for which they had been rescheduled. The results of those will therefore be included in a subsequent report when they have all been completed.
And so, to the matches scheduled for November 10, of which three were played at the Santo Antonio Club at Alvor.
Firstly, in alphabetical order, we had the Amigos, who secured a comfortable victory over the Rangers by 60 shots to 42 and 6 points to 2.
Secondly the Gladiators, who had a ding-dong battle with the Foresters where two rinks were decided by one shot on the last end. The overall score, however, was a comfortable victory for the visitors by 52 shots to 36 and another 6 points to 2.
The sun continued to shine in the afternoon, albeit not for the Scorpions, who entertained the Cats and suffered another defeat. A close score of 59 shots to 49, but the Cats took away 7 points leaving the Scorpions with only 1.
Whilst they were in progress, the Tigers entertained the Greens at Tavira and secured victory in a close fought game by 54 shots to 43 and 5 points to 3.
And so to the table where the Terriers, even though they rested, still hold top spot with 22 points. Next come the Cats and the Amigos with 21 each, closely followed by the Tigers 19 and Foresters 18 points respectively. Lagging behind a little come the Gladiators 10, the Greens 9, the Scorpions 6 and the Rangers 2.
Still all to play for however – watch this space!
