Charity dinner in Cascais to support horse-assisted therapy

AHT’s annual gala aims to fund the association’s vital work

Associação Hípica Terapêutica (AHT) – a non-profit organisation based in Cascais which uses horse therapy to improve the life quality of special needs children and adults –is set to host its annual charity dinner on Friday, November 21 at O Picadeiro, in Quinta da Marinha, Cascais.

The event, running from 7.30pm to midnight, will feature a welcome cocktail, dinner, live jazz by the Sara Magid Jazz Trio, and an equestrian performance with riders in typical Portuguese attire. Guests can also look forward to a raffle and charity auction with exclusive prizes. Among the special guests is Portuguese jet set star Lili Caneças, who joins other well-known figures expected to make the night one to remember.

All proceeds will support AHT’s therapeutic programmes, volunteers, and maintenance of its facilities. The event is sold out, but for those who couldn’t secure a seat, donations remain open through Donorbox.

Founded in 1989, AHT is a non-profit organisation that has been transforming lives for over three decades. Through the interaction between humans and horses, it helps participants develop motor, cognitive, and emotional skills, fostering inclusion and wellbeing. Supported by 25 volunteers and two staff members, the association conducts around 320 therapy sessions each year.
