Whether you swing a club or raise a glass, your presence can help save lives
Golfers, guests, and supporters from both Portuguese and Ukrainian communities will gather on Monday, July 21 at Ombria Algarve in Loulé for a special event aimed at raising €100,000 for Repower, a Ukrainian-Swedish nonprofit that helps frontline medics recover from the physical and psychological toll of war.
The event will include a full day of activity, starting with 18 scenic holes at the Ombria course, followed by a Gala Lunch featuring dishes from both Ukrainian and Portuguese chefs. Entertainment includes a live performance by João Mendonza, and the event will be hosted by presenter Rita Ferraz. Guests can also look forward to a solidarity auction and some surprise moments throughout the day.
Organised by Oranta with the support of the Ukrainian Embassy in Portugal and the Association of Ukrainians in Portugal, the event is open to everyone. Guests are welcome to attend the Gala Lunch even without playing, with tickets available for €85 per person.
Repower runs 10-day rehabilitation retreats for Ukrainian frontline medics. These programs combine rest, therapy, and training, giving participants the strength to return to duty. Over 1,000 medics have already taken part in retreats across Sweden, Denmark, and Spain. Portugal could soon become the fourth host country, and a partner in professional exchange around trauma recovery and mental resilience.
There are three ways to support the cause:
- Join the event by signing up to play or attend the Gala at golf4repower.com
- Become a sponsor by contacting +351 967 978 696 (Nadiya) or filling in the sponsor form online
- Donating directly to golf4repower.com/donate-to-repower
Whether you swing a club or raise a glass, your presence can help save lives. As the organisers put it: “Play golf. Save lives.”
