Petrol and diesel are due to go up again on Monday, with reports describing “historic values”.
The news boils down to another eight cents per litres on diesel, and 3.5 cents per litre on petrol.
Drivers have already been making the effort to fill up tanks before the increases kick in – and there is a lot of criticism over the measures Portugal’s government are not taking (in contrast to next door Spain, which has been much more proactive to protect consumers: see story to come).
While ‘we are where we are’, the message for everyone on this stunningly beautiful Easter weekend is ‘find the time to fill up your tank before Monday…’
But make the most of the weather as well. It is changing on Monday, and forecasts even warn of rain.
