Street Fashion event raises spirits and €2,300 in support for street dogs
With a glass of fizz in hand, poolside music and paella on every plate, guests at StreetLife’s Street Fashion fundraiser in Moncarapacho were treated to lovely canapes, a delicious seafood paella from Chef José Cancela and decadent desserts.
Over 40 guests gathered for an unforgettable afternoon, raising a total of €2,303 for this vital animal sterilisation programme. Guests browsed rails of high-quality pre-loved clothing, sorted and beautifully curated, while enjoying glasses of fizz – a true showcase of sustainable fashion meets community spirit with guests donating generously, knowing that every euro donated helps prevent future suffering and keeps the Algarve’s dog population healthy and more under control.
Thanks to tireless fundraising efforts like this one, over 1,430 dogs have already been sterilised through the StreetLife programme – many from families or individuals who simply couldn’t afford the cost of sterilisation.
Streetlife is a non-profit organisation based in the East Algarve and as well as helping families on low incomes, they also support local animal shelters who need the strays and the abandoned dogs they take care of sterilised before they are hopefully rehomed. The programme was launched just over six years ago and this week achieved its 1430th dog sterilisation, which is definitely cause for celebration.
