PLANICIE MEDITERRANICA XV1 Festival Sete Sois Sete Luas took place in Castro Verde over the weekend with a feast of culture.
Music from European and Mediterranean countries fused with gastronomy and art to provide a kaleidoscope of music and drama.
During the festival, music from many different cultures was staged around the town, climaxing on Sunday night with the 7Sois Orkestra, a fusion of musical passions from Andalusia, Morocco, Israel and Italy with the vocals of Portugal’s Marguerita Guerrera.
Following the weekend festival, the art trail will still be open to visitors.
Starting at the Antiga Fabrica Prazeres & Irmáo with the installation of Juan Mar, a thought provoking view of people in captivity, the trail leads around the town with street sculpture at the Centro International de Escultura and finishes at the Forum Municipal with the wonderfully colourful paintings of Florence born Guiliano Ghelli. While you are there also take a look at the Museu Da Lucerna, dedicated to the study of Roman oil lamps and the newly opened rural life museum.
