Kimpton Atlântico Algarve serves up festive feats

The festive season arrives this year at Kimpton Atlântico Algarve in Albufeira with an elegant programme headlined by delicious food.

On December 24, Restaurant Marés hosts a special Christmas Eve dinner, beginning with a warm welcome drink – guests may choose between a spiced cranberry punch, Port wine or a hibiscus mocktail. The meal opens with a handcrafted couvert, followed by a velvety fish and shrimp cream soup. For the main course, two dishes spotlight the richness of Portugal’s gastronomy: Tavira octopus served with fondant potato and glazed bimi, and milk-fed goat with bread migas, cured sausages and charred vegetables. The evening concludes with a festive signature dessert, “Our Yule Log”, combining chocolate, bolo-rei and delicate vanilla. Dinner is priced at €65 per person (drinks excluded).

Festivities continue on Christmas Day with a lunch and dinner menu designed for family enjoyment. The meal begins with an artisanal couvert and a refined duck pie entrée with confit duck, mushrooms and quince. Guests then choose between cod with broa – served with sweet potato and traditional greens – or turkey marinated in Port wine, filled with dried fruits and paired with chestnut and red onion textures. A caramelised Portuguese-style French toast with Port wine and yoghurt ice cream provides a sweet finale. The menu is €65 per adult and €36 for children aged 4 to 11.
