Lagoa has officially revealed its main events for 2026, putting Fatacil firmly in the spotlight as the headline attraction of the year.
The municipality presented its annual programme during the 2026 edition of the Bolsa de Turismo de Lisboa (BTL) tourism fair in Lisbon on February 28, outlining a calendar filled with festivals, concerts and cultural initiatives – but it was the 45th edition of Fatacil that drew the most attention.

Scheduled to run from August 21 to August 30, the event once again promises ten days of music, entertainment, business stands, agriculture, handicrafts and regional promotion. Over the years, the event has grown into one of the largest fairs in southern Portugal, attracting thousands of visitors each summer.
This year’s concert line-up will, as usual, feature some of Portugal’s biggest musical acts. Tony Carreira opens the festivities on August 21, followed by the nostalgic sounds of Festa M80 the next night. Hybrid Theory brings a tribute to Linkin Park on August 23, with Vizinhos performing on August 24. Rapper Plutónio takes the stage on August 25, followed by fado singer Sara Correia on August 26.
The final stretch features Quim Barreiros on August 27, Richie Campbell on August 28 and Nininho Vaz Maia on August 29, before Os Quatro e Meia close the fair on August 30.
While Fatacil is the clear centrepiece, Lagoa’s 2026 calendar stretches well beyond the summer fair. The Festa da Juventude (Youth Festival) runs from May 29 to June 1, followed by the Lagoa Wine Show from June 5 to June 9. Carvoeiro’s epic Black and White Night takes place on June 20, while Lagoa’s beautiful candlelit market ‘Mercado de Culturas à Luz das Velas’ is scheduled for July 2 to July 5. Lagoa Jazz Fest is set for July 17 to July 19, and conventual sweets will take centre stage during ‘Mostra de Doce Conventual’, scheduled from July 29 to August 2. After FATACIL, the Festivities of Nossa Senhora da Luz and Lagoa’s municipal holiday will be held from September 6 to September 9, ending with Lagoa Magic Fest from October 8 to October 10.

“BTL is a strategic stage for us to position Lagoa nationally and internationally,” said Lagoa mayor Luís Encarnação at the fair. “Fatacil is the biggest event in our municipality and a driver of economic, cultural and tourism activity. The line-up we have presented today shows the ambition and quality we want to continue offering. At the same time, our key annual events confirm Lagoa as a dynamic area, with consistent programming throughout the year, capable of attracting different audiences and generating value for the municipality.”
