The Algarve’s Vila Vita Parc resort in Porches, Lagoa is preparing to host one of the world’s most renowned cocktail bars, New York’s Employees Only, for an exclusive pop-up event.
With the support of Bacardi, the event will run from September 2 to 6 between 7pm and midnight, offering guests a chance to enjoy Employees Only’s signature cocktails, all while enjoying Art Deco-inspired atmosphere and live music at Vila Vita Parc’s House Bar.
Behind the counter, two bartenders from the New York team – Kevin Muñiz Bustamante and Frank Kurt Maldonado – will lead the experience. The special menu will feature six cocktails and two non-alcoholic options, inspired by the most celebrated creations of Employees Only. Muñiz, originally from Mexico, built his career in the United States, earning recognition as a barback in prestigious venues such as Lola Taverna and Sartiano’s before joining the bar’s elite team. Known for his technical creativity and vibrant presence, he regularly participates in international events. Maldonado, from Guatemala, quickly established himself as one of Employees Only’s ambassadors, traveling the world to headline events and curate cocktail menus.
“Founded in 2004 in New York’s West Village, Employees Only is celebrated for its speakeasy character, elegant Art Deco design, and impeccable hospitality”, the resort says in a statement. “Consistently ranked among the World’s 50 Best Bars, it become a global phenomenon and expanded to cities including Singapore, Sydney, and Los Angeles.”
Vila Vita Parc adds that its House Bar will be completely reimagined to reflect the New York institution’s intimate atmosphere.
