The final of the annual Poppy Shield Bowls competition took place at Pedras Lawn Bowls Club on Saturday November 17 and was won by Tony Crawford and John Marshall (from Pedras), seen accepting the Shield from Sandra Wilkinson, the Poppy Appeal Coordinator for Portugal. The runners up were Miranda Burton and John Gilbert from Isla Canela Bowls Club.
Over €700 has been raised for the Poppy Appeal from the various Bowls Clubs in the Algarve/Isla Canela.
