Registrations open for Sagres Birdwatching Festival

Nature lovers can already sign up for the hundreds of activities planned throughout the four-day event

The Sagres Birdwatching Festival, one of the Algarve’s most beloved nature-themed events, is returning in October with hundreds of activities to enjoy.

Registrations are already open and signing up early is recommended as many activities become fully booked quickly.

As the name suggests, birdwatching is the main focus of the event. There will be dozens of bird-related activities to enjoy in and around Sagres from October 2 to 5, from birdwatching to bird ringing, workshops on how to draw or photograph birds and even an event that will seek to educate participants on birds while enjoying the best Portuguese wines.

But the scope of the event goes beyond just activities for bird enthusiasts, as there will also be boat trips to spot dolphins or explore the region’s beautiful sea caves, lectures, hikes, activities for children and much, much more.

The full list of activities can be found on the event’s official website, sorted by day and providing more comprehensive information on each activity. Many of the events are paid, although there are also several free activities to enjoy.
