The season begins

New players have been knocking at our doors, teams have been restructured, the transfer window is closed and it’s back to business.

Algarve Singles, Pairs, Triples and Fours knock-out competitions are slowly getting underway and will be played right through until next March, but the Inter Club Winter League is our main event, and every week there is excitement within its matches.

This year there are nine club teams which means there are four hard fought contests taking place each Saturday with one resting.  Each match consists of three triples with two points for each game and a further two points available for the overall winning score.

As we move from October into November, The Terriers have won all of their three matches so far and are at the top of the leader board with 22 points. The Amigos won two, lost one, are second with 15; whilst the Cats and Tigers have each played two, won two and sit comfortably together in third place with 14.

The next section teams who have lost two, won one, are The Foresters with 12 points, the Gladiators with eight and the Greens with six; whilst the final two played three lost three are the Scorpions with five points and the Rangers yet to score … Then there’s the Midweek League still to come so watch this space.
