IRAN HAS announced plans for a new car especially designed for women to drive.
Features of the car are set to include automatic transmission, parking and navigational aids and a jack to help women out of the car without creasing her chador.
The car is to be produced by an Iranian company who has revealed the cars will come in a range of feminine colours.
Although women now comprise more than 60 per cent of university students, the country still appears to have problems embracing equal rights. However, President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad insists that Iranian women are the most equal in the world.
Women are still banned from riding motorbikes in Iran.
