Restaurant Review – VillArade

A perfect place for social dining

Ferragudo || The newly-renovated VillArade restaurant opened its freshly painted doors in Ferragudo (formerly Tempo Bistrot and more recently Ashleys).

Pedro will give you a warm welcome to the lounge area where you can enjoy a selection of tapas including the traditional board with Monchique cheeses and cured meats and an aperitif, before heading into the bright and tastefully decorated dining room.

Thankfully, they have invested in heating which is, of course, not something that everyone offers and a very welcome addition at this time of year!

Chef Ana has many years of experience using local produce and loves the variety of fresh fish here in the Algarve, which she ensures is on display in the chilled cabinet and ready to be prepared for you.

With a menu that complements Portuguese cuisine, you will find generous steaks, kebabs, cataplanas, pastas and a good selection of Portuguese and Mediterranean choices.
Specialities such as the Villarade Hat and meat fondues are two of the things that set them apart.

The Hat is a pyramid structure made of steel with hooks on it which is heated from the inside.  A plate of meat is served and you place your meat onto the hat and cook it to your liking.

Both the hat and fondue are great mediums for social dining and can add to the eating experience.

Why not try our Readers Offer, which gives you 15% off an evening meal for two (excluding Valentine’s Day when there is live music).
