An open house event described as ‘a journey into the 18th century’ is being held at Portal do Infante restaurant at Lagos Marina on Sunday, November 10, from 11am to 5pm.
The theme of the day will be the 18th century, commemorating a significant period in Portugal’s history and organisers will be dressed in period costume.
Following several successful open house events, this will be the fifth event raising funds for the school for those with special needs, NECI, in Praia da Luz. There will be a tombola stand manned by the school, with artwork painted by the students on sale.
A variety of local artists and crafts people will demonstrate their work and their original handcrafted products will be for sale. A workshop in pottery-making is bound to attract visitors willing to learn a new skill but as places are limited to 10 people, advance booking with the organisers is required.
Entertainment will be provided by local dance and music schools, and a saxophone quintet.
The second part of the day will be a gala dinner and concert by the Lagos Music Academy at the restaurant from 8pm.
Entry to the open house event is free while tickets for the gala dinner, costing €20 per person, should be reserved in advance.
