Perfect for a dip
Beachgoers in the Algarve are in for a treat this weekend, as last week’s scorching temperatures make way for milder summer weather and warmer seas.
According to forecasts from the Portuguese Institute for Sea and Atmosphere (IPMA), water temperatures along the eastern Algarve between Faro and Vila Real de Santo António could hit 26ºC in the coming days.
Along the western Algarve coast, places like Lagos and Portimão could see sea temperatures reach 24ºC.
Even the usually cooler southwestern coast, from Vila Nova de Milfontes to Aljezur, is warming up, with sea temperatures expected to reach 21ºC.
On land, air temperatures across the Algarve are set to begin climbing again after a cooler turn this week, with highs expected around 32ºC to 33ºC. In other words, perfect weather for a dip.
