Each year, the Almancil International Rotary Club (AIRC) sends young Portuguese students abroad for short and long-term exchanges to learn of other countries’ cultures and attend school in the host country.
In order to raise funds for this scheme, AIRC and the Rotary Club of Loulé will be holding a São Martinho Autumn Festival on Sunday, November 11, from 1pm at Escola EB2,3 Almancil.
As well as the traditional chestnuts, BBQ food, wine, soft drinks, coffee and cakes will be on sale. Entertainment will be provided by Martin Teutscher, Mario Spencer and José Miceli.
The school has a section where young people interested in working in hotels or restaurants are taught cooking and waitering skills. These students will be providing some of the food which they will prepare themselves. Admission is €5 per person.
