Youngsters visited Wigglestail Animal Sanctuary, near Messines
Brave Generation Academy (BGA) is reshaping education with its flexible, hybrid learning model, combining online study with in-person support at local Hubs.
Learners follow international or national curricula, including the new Portuguese National Curriculum launching in September 2025, offering direct access to Portuguese universities. With project-based pathways like UP and fast-tracked university degrees in areas such as Business, Computing, and Sports, BGA empowers young people to take charge of their future.
As part of their education, BGA encourages community involvement, teaching young people the value of real-world impact. Last month, a group of BGA Learners dedicated their time to local projects, from building repairs to clearing land, gaining practical skills while making a difference.
One of their key projects, organised by Santa Barbara Animal Help, took place at Wigglestail Animal Sanctuary near Messines, which provides a safe haven for abandoned and mistreated animals.
The youngsters donned their wellingtons and mucked in with feeding the pigs, cleaning the dog pens, petting the cats, and caring for Wigglestail’s latest rescues – a mummy dog and her six newborn puppies.
After a picnic lunch and quiz, Alex Abbott from Eqology, a sponsor of both rescue organisations, introduced the group to the health benefits of natural fish oils and collagen, which also help raise funds for the rescues.
A huge thanks to all the volunteers who helped on the day – your support makes a real difference.
