A charity lunch will be held on November 7 by the Friends of Canil de Portimão to raise funds for the homeless dogs and cats temporarily residing at the Portimão municipal kennels.
In addition to the sold-out fundraising lunch taking place today (November 2) by the group, another lunch has been arranged because only 40 seats per event are available.
Established by Patricia de Nieuwe and Karin Verhoeven in 2011, Friends of Canil de Portimão is an association that consists of a voluntary group of Algarve residents, of many nationalities, who work on a non-profit basis to provide aid and assistance to abandoned animals. So far, the charity has re-homed over 200 animals.
The Asian-themed lunch will be held at Casa da Vida Nova in Alcantarilha and will begin at 12pm.
An Indonesian buffet lunch will be served and 40 seats will be available. Tickets for the event will cost €25 per person and €12.50 will go directly to the Friends of Canil de Portimão charity.
“The charity lunch is one of the ways we raise money to give the dogs and cats medical care, and we hope to see you all there. Everyone is welcome,” said Patricia.
Reservation is essential and tickets can be picked up from various locations across the Algarve.
