Another delivery of boxes containing baby and children’s clothing from ASDA in the UK has been received by Silves-based charity for the needy, Castelo dos Sonhos.
The items were transported, free of charge, by Algarve Removals.
Castelo dos Sonhos volunteer Celia Mossman said: “We appreciate the generosity of everyone involved and would like to assure them that the clothes will go to the neediest of children.”
The clothes are now in the baby shop of Castelo dos Sonhos in Silves, waiting to be distributed. However, the shop is in desperate need of an extra pair of hands, “even a couple of hours a week” to help change the summer outfits to winter ones as well as prepare ‘starter bags’ for new mums and babies. Anyone willing to help is asked to contact the charity.
Meanwhile, Castelo dos Sonhos thanks all who donated to the appeal for schoolbags for needy children. Celia said: “We have been able to distribute 152 bags and still have a few more which we can offer children later in the year.”
Now preparing for Christmas and the usual seasonal fundraising, Castelo dos Sonhos has announced that it is holding a charity craft fair on November 24 at the Hotel Colinas dos Mouros in Silves from 11am to 4.30pm. Stands cost €12 each and a small gift for the tombola will be required from the stallholder.
