A series of historic photographs that helped promote the Algarve internationally are on display in Vila do Bispo until March 31.
The exhibition, entitled “The Algarve of Asta and Luís de Almeida d’Eça”, can be visited at the Vila do Bispo Interpretation Centre and is part of the celebrations of the 55th anniversary of the regional tourism board, Turismo do Algarve.

The photos were captured by Asta and Luis de Almeida d’Eça between the 1960s and 1980s – a period considered key in establishing the Algarve as an international tourism destination.
Originally used in promotional campaigns for the region, the photographs portray landscapes, traditions, local trades and everyday life.
For the exhibition, the images have been reproduced in large format and are displayed across more than 20 panels.
The exhibition is open from Monday to Friday between 10am and 1pm and from 1.30pm to 4.30pm. Entry is free.
