Horses stolen from Loulé animal shelter

Canil de São Francisco de Assis appeals for information after mother horse and foal taken during break-in

Canil de São Francisco de Assis in Loulé was the target of a break-in during the night, during which a mare and her foal were stolen, the shelter has revealed.

In a statement, the organisation condemned the “brutality” of the incident and expressed deep concern for the animals’ welfare, stressing that the mare requires ongoing medical care, making it urgent to locate her as soon as possible.

The kennel is asking the public to help spread the word and report any sightings or information that could assist authorities in finding the missing animals.

“The sharing of this information is crucial to help find the stolen animals and to raise community awareness,” the statement reads, urging residents to contact local authorities or the kennel directly with any relevant leads.
