Influencer who laughingly confessed to hit-and-run in podcast now ‘arguido’ (an official suspect)

Tiago Grila ‘suspected of crime of omission of aid’

The case of an ‘influencer’ who laughingly confessed in a podcast to a hit-and-run on a rainy evening in Lisbon when asked if there was anything he hadn’t told anyone has now been officially made an ‘arguido’ by PSP criminal investigators.

Tiago Grila has long since changed his story since the damning podcast earlier this year – but it may be ‘too late’: the victim of a hit-and-run on a rainy evening, in circumstances eerily similar to those outlined by Grila, has come forwards – and shown herself to be in no mood for laughter: the accident has impacted on her quality of life, and ability to earn a living.

Grila left the country in the wake of this ‘polemic’, but he has since returned, and recently was ‘heard’ at the PSP’s criminal investigation police station in Amadora, where he did not make a statement.

In a video over social media, he appears to make light of the ‘hearing’ and allude to ‘proof of his whereabouts’ on that day.

As media reports recall, the accident took place a little after 8pm on January 17, 2024, on Avenida D. José 1 in Amadora, close to the Bingo hall. The car ‘went through a red light and ran over Marina (Braga), who was crossing a pedestrian crossing with a green light’ (meaning she had the right cross).

The crime of ‘omission of aid’ does not require the presentation of any kind of complaint, and, in serious situations, can carry a sentence of up to two years in prison, explains SIC Notícias. ND
