A fashion and autumn fair held on September 18 raised €2,000 for Madrugada, the charity that provides home based palliative care in the community and support for people affected by life-limiting illness.

The president of the association, Alison Blair, thanked all those involved in the day, which was held at the social club of the Amigos dos Aládena.

The event, supported by several stall holders and traders, was well attended and attracted visitors from across the western Algarve, with the cake stall proving particularly popular as was the hot food cooked by Vanda Wombell and Anne Jones.

David Chesterton compered the fashion shows presented by Collections, Madrugada Charity Shop and Jouk Fashions and models took to the catwalk to show off looks from casual to evening wear, with Lesley Robinson putting together charity shop collections.

The event was captured on video by Michal Lukowski and can be viewed at www.algarvideo.eu/madrugada
