Members of Salgados Golf Club came together in a heartfelt show of generosity, raising over €4,500 through local sponsorship and community support to benefit Casa de Acolhimento A Gaivota, a residential care home in Albufeira that provides a safe and supportive environment for young people aged between 12 and 18 who are at risk or in danger.
The successful fundraising effort was made possible with the support of key local sponsors, most notably Salgados Golf Club (Troon), the Cloud FM Group, Portugal Golf Holidays, and many other generous contributors who helped bring the initiative to life.
The fundraising campaign concluded on December 18 with the presentation of the donation at Salgados Golf Club. The event welcomed young residents from Casa de Acolhimento A Gaivota, who were invited to spend an enjoyable and uplifting day at the club. The occasion focused not only on the donation itself but also on offering the children a positive and memorable experience outside their daily routine.
During their visit, the children had the opportunity to experience golf using the club’s two new golf simulators and practice on the putting greens. With encouragement and guidance from club members and staff, many tried the sport for the first time, showing enthusiasm and confidence throughout the day.
The event highlighted the strong sense of community within Salgados Golf Club and demonstrated the meaningful impact of local collaboration, generosity, and care for vulnerable young people during the festive season.
