Friends of the New Goldra Dog Sanctuary have come together to produce a 2013 wall calendar, featuring dogs of all shapes and sizes for adoption or sponsorship, to raise funds for the animal shelter.
The New Goldra Dog Sanctuary is a non profit making organisation, solely reliant on private funding and donations to meet all day-to-day running costs.
A total of 500 calendars will be printed and sold from November 2, through various outlets across the Algarve, such as the Algarve Resident, a sponsor of the initiative, vets and pet shops, among others to be announced.
All proceeds from the sales will go directly to help funding for the dogs and cover expenses with food, medication and vet’s bills.
At present, the Sanctuary houses 93 dogs, all looking for new homes, although volunteers are trying to reduce this number through a directed rehoming adoption policy. Read more on Facebook at ‘TheFriendsofTheNewGoldraDogSanctuary’.
Each calendar will cost €8.95, which organisers believe is a reasonable price that will benefit not only the shelter but also sponsors who will get maximum exposure.
In order to generate funds for the sanctuary and cover production costs, each calendar page needs to be sponsored. Most months have already been confirmed for sponsorship but there are still some available.
The format of the calendar is 15cmx42cm, with a heavyweight gloss cover and robust interior, and a wiro bound along the top edge with a metal hook for hanging on your wall. The calendars will be in full colour and individually shrink wrapped for a quality presentation – an ideal Christmas present!
