The main Remembrance Service in the Algarve will start at 10.50am on November 11 at St. Luke’s Church in Palhagueira, where wreaths will be laid by the British Ambassador to Portugal, Jill Gallard, and members of the RBL. There will also be a Remembrance Service at the Praia da Luz Church at 12pm.
The RBL Poppy Appeal coordinator for Portugal, Sandra Wilkinson, said: “At Remembrance, the British Community throughout the world remembers those who died for the freedom that we enjoy today, and the visible representation of that Remembrance is the wearing of a Poppy and the keeping of the two minute silence at 11am on November 11.”
