This September, the SandyBlue team joined Awaze’s annual Environmental Clean-Up Week, an initiative uniting teams across Europe to preserve and restore local environments. From city parks to forest trails and beaches, more than 300 Awaze colleagues took part, dedicating over 1,700 hours and collecting more than 400 bags of litter.
A local effort with global impact
Here in the Algarve, SandyBlue staff swapped their desks for the shoreline, spending an afternoon cleaning a popular stretch of coast. Equipped with gloves and bags, the team removed litter and debris, helping to restore the natural beauty of the area and protect local wildlife.
For Managing Director Anastasia Takield, it was an opportunity to act on values that sit at the heart of the company. “The Algarve’s beaches are not just beautiful holiday destinations. They are part of the environment that sustains our community and our guests’ experiences. Taking care of them is a responsibility we all share.”
