There are still tickets available for the next production by The Angels Theatre Group, to be performed at the Teatro Gregório Mascarenhas in Silves on November 9 and 10.
The show, entitled ‘Mad Dogs and Englishmen’, is a tribute to the genius of Noel Coward, a man renowned for his flamboyant style, wit and musical talent. It will include a selection of his work that includes comedy, pathos, cleverness and satire.
During Coward’s life, he wrote over 300 songs and 50 plays.
One of his compositions was called Bitter Sweet, an operetta written in 1929 about a woman who elopes with her music teacher. It was performed both in London and New York.
Miss Sadie Mathews, well known singer and welcome guest artist to The Angels Group, will perform one of the songs from this play. Miss Mathews, in her professional acting and singing career, performed this role in England.
She will also sing the sentimental song Someday I’ll Find You from the play Private Lives.
Tickets, costing €15 per person, include a welcome cocktail supplied by the Silves Rotary Club.
The doors open at 7pm and the Revue starts at 8pm.
There will be a raffle, with prizes organised by the Silves Rotary and those arriving in 1920s-30s dress will be rewarded with a free ticket for a special raffle.
