The Westin Salgados prepares festive feats for Christmas and New Year

 The Westin Salgados Beach Resort in Albufeira has unveiled a special programme for the holiday season, including a wide range of festive feasts.

Guests booking the Christmas package settle into two nights in a double Standard Room, complete with breakfast, Christmas Eve Dinner and Christmas Day Lunch, starting at €450 for two people. And because Christmas is the time of year to spend more time with those you love, families can enjoy a Healthy Cookie Workshop on December 24 at 3pm., followed by children’s activities at the Kids Club on Christmas Day at 11am and the lively Garden Games at 3pm.

Christmas Eve brings a festive buffet dinner blending tradition with indulgence. Expect everything from Portugal’s classic codfish to beloved octopus dish, Polvo à Lagareiro, as well as chestnut-and-apricot-stuffed turkey and Trás-os-Montes-style roast kid goat. Dessert is a wonderland of Christmas sweets, including pumpkin sonhos, Porto-style rabanadas, aletria, king cake, queen cake, chocolate-hazelnut yule log, and seasonal fruit. The dinner is €90 per person, with 50% off for children aged three to 12.

On Christmas Day, the celebration continues with a live-music Christmas Lunch, where guests can choose from refined dishes like garlic-herb grilled tiger prawns, codfish with winter greens, pargo fillet with clam rice, or comforting roast turkey with rosemary potatoes. Vegans aren’t forgotten, with options like vegetable patties and chickpea-pumpkin stew with kale and tofu. Lunch is €70 per person, with 50% off for children.

New Year’s Eve will also be celebrated in style at The Westin Salgados. The New Year package, starting at €750 for two, includes a minimum two-night stay, breakfast, festive activities, the New Year’s Eve Dinner and the January 1 New Year’s Brunch.

The New Year’s Eve buffet will feature a selection of mouthwatering dishes, such as live truffle-mushroom risotto, an t Italian station, a Seafood Station with oysters, crab and prawns, plus a Caviar Bar and mains like corvina with champagne sauce, guinea fowl stew with chestnuts, and roast beef with caramelized cauliflower purée. Dinner is €90 per person, with 50% child discount.

January 1 begins with nature: a refreshing beach walk, an invigorating dip and the nourishing New Year’s Brunch (€45).
