The Portimão harbour front will host the opening stage of the UIM F1 World Powerboat Championships for a record 11th time this weekend.
2008 title holder Jay Price (Qatar Team) will attempt to begin the defence of his crown against the likes of last year’s runner-up Sami Selio (Mad Croc), seven-time Portuguese GP winner Guido Cappellini (Zepter) and home racer Duarte Benavente (Atlantic) during the competition’s debut two feature races scheduled to start at 3pm on successive days.
